The Blaklader Craftsman Kilt is an unconventional alternative to standard work trousers, made for tradesmen who want something different on site. It is particularly popular with bricklayers, tilers and sheet metal workers who spend a lot of time crouching or bending, since the kilt offers freedom of movement that trousers simply cannot match. An adjustable waist keeps it secure despite the unusual cut.
It is made from 100% cotton in a twill weave weighing 370 g/m², giving the fabric the toughness and comfortable feel typical of classic tradesman cotton, sturdy enough for daily use on the job site. The material is also Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certified, meaning it has been tested for harmful substances.
What makes the kilt genuinely practical is its pocket layout: bagged rear pockets, a ruler pocket with a knife holder and pen pocket, a leg pocket with a flap, and bagged side and front pockets provide ample room for tools and small items. Extra tool pouches can be slotted into the front pockets, while a hammer loop on the side and wide belt loops at the back and sides round off the setup. A phone pocket keeps a mobile safely stowed as well.
