The CoverTex®FR protective coverall C-1FR is a disposable suit designed for tasks where protection against particles and contamination needs to go hand in hand with flame-retardant properties. It suits businesses that need to equip staff working in dusty or fibre-laden environments without relying on reusable suits that require cleaning after every use. The three-piece hood with elasticated edge keeps the head area securely covered even during movement.
The material is a multi-layer SMS polypropylene nonwoven fabric with flame-retardant treatment. This combination keeps the suit light and comfortable to wear while making it more resistant to wear than single-layer nonwovens, which in practice means less abrasion and fewer tears during use. Elasticated cuffs, ankles and waist ensure a snug fit that stays in place during movement, and the two-way zip with its protective flap makes putting the suit on and taking it off easier without compromising protection at that point. The antistatic finish also reduces static build-up in the fabric, which matters in dusty or combustible environments.
The coverall is tested to EN 1073, a standard covering protective clothing against contamination by radioactive particles, and is classified as PPE Category III, Type 5 and Type 6. Type 5 covers protection against solid airborne particles, while Type 6 covers protection against light liquid splashes and sprays – combined with the flame-retardant finish, this gives a level of protection aimed at more demanding tasks than a basic disposable overall would cover.
Supplied as bulk goods with a minimum order quantity of 50 units, the C-1FR is well suited to companies that regularly need larger quantities, such as in industrial settings, cleaning and remediation work, or any environment where particle protection needs to be paired with a degree of flame resistance.
