This Kratos work and rescue winch is designed for use with a tripod and enables the controlled lifting or lowering of personnel and materials in confined spaces such as tanks and shafts. It is aimed at businesses working in height rescue, tank construction or confined space operations that need a dependable mechanical lifting and rescue system. The winch is supplied with the matching mounting system for order no. 4470, so it can be fitted directly onto an existing tripod setup.
The cable is made of galvanised steel and, at 20 metres in length, offers the stability needed for demanding, repeated use. Galvanised steel provides corrosion resistance and high load-bearing capacity, both of which matter when the equipment is used regularly in tough conditions. At 7.5 kg, the winch remains manageable to transport and mount on the tripod.
The winch meets EN 1496:2017 Class A for rescue lifting devices and EN 13157:2004 + A1 for manually powered lifting equipment. In practical terms, this means the unit is tested and built both for everyday load handling and for use in an actual rescue situation. It also complies with the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC and the ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU, making it suitable for use in correspondingly regulated work environments. Minimum working load is 60 kg, while maximum working load under the Machinery Directive is 250 kg.
Typical applications include work in tanks, shafts and other confined spaces, for example in industrial settings, sewer and drainage work, or plant maintenance, wherever personnel and materials need to be lowered safely or rescued in an emergency.
