The Blaklader XLIGHT short-sleeve base layer is made from pure merino wool for anyone who needs reliable protection against wind, moisture and cold as a first layer, whatever the season throws at them. Thanks to its thin, lightweight construction it works year-round and is particularly suited to tradespeople, roofers, painters or drivers who need a layer that stays close to the body without adding bulk, yet still keeps them warm.
The extra-fine merino wool in a single jersey weave at 160 g/m² feels soft against the skin and offers excellent moisture transport, so sweat is carried away efficiently and the body stays dry. At the same time the fabric helps regulate body temperature, meaning you neither cool down too quickly nor overheat during activity. The round neckline with contrast stitching sits comfortably, while the extended back and flattering waist shaping in a slim fit keep the shirt in place even when you are on the move. Care is straightforward with a mild 40°C wash using wool detergent, though bleaching, dry cleaning, ironing and tumble drying should all be avoided.
Certified to Oeko-Tex Standard 100, the fabric has been tested for harmful substances, which matters especially for a garment worn directly against the skin.
With a recommended usage range of +10°C to -10°C, this base layer is a versatile choice for outdoor trades such as construction, roofing, gardening or fishing. Sheet metal workers, tilers and other tradespeople working outdoors will also appreciate a warming yet unrestrictive layer that fits easily under any other workwear.
