The protection is inherent, meaning it is woven into the fibre itself rather than applied as a coating, so it lasts for the full life of the garment.
The fabric is a blend of 59% modacrylic, 39% cotton and 2% other fibres, knitted as a rib fabric weighing 250 g/m². In practice this gives a soft, stretchy feel directly against the skin, just what you would expect from good underwear, while still delivering flame-resistant and antistatic performance. An elastic waistband keeps everything in place even under close-fitting workwear.
Certification to EN ISO 14116 confirms protection against limited flame spread, while EN 1149-5 verifies the antistatic properties of the fabric, helping to reduce the risk of electrostatic build-up. Both standards matter most in workplaces where open flames, heat or arc flash hazards are part of the job.
