The RUNNEX® SpecialStar is an S3S lace-up safety boot built for the cold season, designed for anyone who refuses to compromise on protection or comfort when temperatures drop. With its timeless black/grey design, it looks just as at home on a construction site as it does on an airport apron, never coming across as a bulky winter boot. Evonik's activeBumper technology adds noticeable cushioning with every step.
The upper, made from full-grain waxed cowhide combined with water-repellent textile material, keeps moisture out reliably while staying pleasantly flexible. Inside, the RUNNEX® fleece functional lining keeps feet warm without causing them to overheat. The 2-density PU/PU sole adds extra stability and a springy feel underfoot that eases the strain of long working days.
As an S3S boot to EN ISO 20345:2022, the SpecialStar delivers comprehensive protection: the RUNNEX® Composite-Protection toe cap guards against impact and compression injuries, while the penetration-resistant sole prevents injuries from sharp objects underfoot. The additional CI marking stands for cold insulation, and FO indicates resistance to fuel oil. ESD protection to EN 61340-5-1:2016 safely dissipates static electricity, making the boot suitable for sensitive ESD workplaces too. Classification follows DGUV112-191 under PPE category II.
This makes the RUNNEX® SpecialStar particularly suited to work in industry and trades, at airports, in cold storage areas and on ESD workstations, whether the job takes place indoors or out in the winter cold.
