The RUNNEX® SportStar is an S3S safety shoe with ESD protection that combines a sporty look with the demands of professional protective footwear. It suits anyone looking for a modern, comfortable work shoe that stays comfortable even during long shifts. The activeBumper technology by Evonik provides noticeably pleasant cushioning in the heel area.
The upper, made from hydrophobic microfibre material with TPU trims, makes the shoe resistant to moisture and everyday wear without feeling heavy or stiff. Inside, the RUNNEX® SPORTY functional lining together with the RUNNEX® SOFTtouch heel lining ensures a pleasant foot climate and a secure fit. The rubber outsole with Phylon midsole and the added activeBumper cushioning noticeably reduces strain while walking and standing, which makes a real difference during shift work.
In terms of protection, the SportStar meets the EN ISO 20345:2022 standard in class S3S FO, which includes a penetration-resistant, slip-resistant sole and resistance to fuel oil. The composite toe cap protects the toes against impact and compression without adding the extra weight of metal. The shoe also features ESD protection to EN 61340-5-1:2016, which dissipates electrostatic charge and makes it suitable for sensitive working environments. Classification under DGUV112-191 confirms its suitability as a safety shoe for professional use.
Thanks to this combination of protective performance and ESD properties, the SportStar is well suited for use in industry and skilled trades as well as indoor and outdoor areas where electrostatic discharge poses a risk. It is particularly suitable for ESD workplaces where sensitive components or equipment need to be protected from static charge.
