The RUNNEX® SportStar is an S3S safety shoe that combines a sporty look with genuine all-day comfort. It's designed for anyone who needs certified protective footwear but wants it to feel more like a sneaker than a traditional work boot. Its ESD properties make it a strong choice for anyone working at electrostatically sensitive workstations.
The upper is made from hydrophobic microfibre material with TPU trims, so moisture beads off without adding bulk or stiffness to the shoe. Inside, the RUNNEX® SPORTY functional lining keeps the foot climate comfortable, while the RUNNEX® SOFTtouch heel lining adds extra cushioning around the heel. The rubber outsole with Phylon midsole, together with Evonik's activeBumper damping technology, noticeably absorbs impact when walking or standing, which makes a real difference during long shifts.
Certified to EN ISO 20345:2022 in class S3S FO, the shoe protects against mechanical hazards thanks to its composite toe cap, is water-repellent and resistant to fuel oil. The additional certification to EN 61340-5-1:2016 confirms its dissipative ESD properties, preventing uncontrolled static build-up – essential wherever sensitive electronic components are handled. Classification under DGUV112-191 also helps when selecting the right PPE for the workplace.
This makes the SportStar suitable both for general industrial and trade use indoors and outdoors, and specifically for ESD workstations such as electronics assembly and manufacturing.
