These painter shorts from Blaklader are built for painters and other tradespeople who need freedom of movement in warm conditions without giving up smart storage. The regular fit combines 2-way stretch fabric with 4-way stretch inserts exactly where the body moves most, whether crouching down or stepping up a ladder.
The outer fabric is a lighter twill weave made from polyester, cotton and Elastofin at around 260 g/m², reinforced with CORDURA at the seat pocket and the dedicated filling-knife pocket. In practice that means a light, breathable feel on the body while the areas that take the most wear stay tough enough for tools and constant use. According to the manufacturer, the fabric is certified to Oeko-Tex Standard 100 and carries the OEKO-TEX MADE IN GREEN label.
The pocket layout is built around the painting trade: a leg pocket with bellows and a hook-and-loop flap includes an inner mesh phone pocket, a second leg pocket is shaped specifically for filling knives and brushes, and the reinforced bellows seat pockets keep their shape even when full. Side pockets, a removable ID pocket, a knife holder with a button and a D-ring on the waistband round out the storage options. Reflective details improve visibility, while metal buttons and a plastic zip in the crotch finish off the construction.
