These pirate trousers from Blaklader are built for painters and other tradespeople who spend their day moving between ladders, walls and floors and need their tools close at hand. The pre-shaped legs and stretch panels at the crotch, knees, hips and calves keep bending, kneeling and reaching from feeling restrictive. The style is also available as a women's fit (model 7109), so teams can outfit both fits from the same range.
The canvas fabric is 100% cotton at 270 g/m², which in practice means strong absorbency and a sturdy, comfortable feel that softens with wear rather than losing durability. At the knees and inside the tool pockets, the fabric is reinforced with CORDURA®, placed exactly where scrapers, folding rulers and nails would otherwise wear through fastest. The kneepad pockets are designed to take kneepad inserts, adding extra protection during kneeling work.
The pocket layout is built specifically around painting work: a dedicated leg pocket for a scraper and brush, bellows pockets with zips, a pen and knife pocket, and tool pockets with holders sized for painter's tools mean everything has its own place. A D-ring on the waistband and an internal phone pocket round out the setup, while a plastic zip at the crotch avoids the chafing that metal hardware can cause in that spot.
