These multi-norm work trousers from Blaklader are built for professionals who face several hazards on the same job, from electricians and welders to road and construction workers and service technicians who need trousers covering more than just one type of risk. The flame-resistant protection is woven directly into the fibre, so it stays effective without any added treatment wearing off over time.
The fabric blends Modacrylic, cotton, FR polyamide and aramid with a ripstop weave, giving it a soft, flexible feel while making it far more resistant to tearing than standard cotton work trousers. Reinforcement at the knees combines CORDURA®, Kevlar® and Protal® for extra durability exactly where it's needed most, while a thin lining on the front panels boosts arc protection without restricting movement. The outer material repels water and dirt, and the trousers are completely free of metal parts and PFAS.
The protection on offer is broad: EN ISO 11612 guards against heat and flames, EN 61482-2 with arc protection class APC 2 shields against thermal hazards from electric arcs, EN ISO 11611 makes them suitable for welding work, EN 13034 protects against splashes of liquid chemicals, and EN 1149-5 dissipates static electricity. High visibility to EN ISO 20471 class 2 adds better recognisability in traffic, while EN 14404 supports safe kneeling work when combined with the right knee pads.
Practical features such as reinforced back pockets, a ruler pocket with a knife holder and a detachable ID pocket make these trousers a solid choice for tradespeople and industrial workers who handle tools and ID cards on site every day.
