These multinorm bib overalls from Blaklader are built for tradesmen and road and construction workers who face several hazards at once on site – heat, flame, static build-up and poor visibility in traffic. Combining flame, hi-vis and arc protection in a single garment means workers do not need to layer several protective pieces, giving consistent coverage from chest to legs.
The fabric blends cotton, polyester and an antistatic fibre in a twill weave, flame-retardant treated and weighing 350 g/m². The result is a tough garment that still feels comfortable to wear and keeps its protective properties even after repeated industrial washing. The surface is treated to repel oil, dirt and water, which cuts down on maintenance during daily use. At the knees, reinforced outer knee pad pockets made from Cordura®, Kevlar® and Protal® add extra durability exactly where the trousers take the most wear.
On the protection side, these overalls cover a wide range: EN ISO 11612 provides protection against heat and flame, EN 1149-5 covers antistatic properties, EN 13034 offers limited protection against chemical splashes, and EN ISO 20471 class 1 delivers visibility protection in traffic. The garment is also certified to IEC 61482-2 against electric arc flash, with an ATPV rating of 11.0 cal/cm², and to EN 14404 for knee impact protection when used together with the matching knee pads. Practical details such as the adjustable elastic braces, the hammer loop and the belt loop with D-ring round it off for demanding site work.
