These multi-norm craftsman trousers from Blaklader are built for anyone facing several hazards at once on site, such as electricians, road workers and construction crews. They combine flame protection, hi-vis certification and antistatic properties in a single garment, and the fabric is also treated to resist oil, dirt and water, so the trousers keep performing through wet and dirty work.
The outer fabric is a flame-retardant twill made from 75% cotton, 24% polyester and 1% antistatic fibre at 350 g/m², which results in trousers that feel sturdy enough for daily site work without being stiff or uncomfortable. The knee pad pockets are reinforced with CORDURA®, Kevlar® and Protal® and offer two height positions, while the fixed nail pockets and the three-part tool pockets are built to carry heavy tools without sagging. The trousers are rated for industrial laundering to EN ISO 15797, which makes them a practical choice for companies running their own laundry cycles.
The certifications cover a wide range of risks: EN ISO 11612 confirms protection against heat and flame, EN ISO 20471 class 1 provides visibility for work near traffic or in low-light conditions, EN 1149-5 gives antistatic properties against electrostatic charge, and IEC 61482-2 demonstrates protection against the thermal effects of an electric arc. Flame-retardant reflective tape with double stitching adds visibility without compromising the protective performance.
This combination makes the trousers a strong fit for electricians exposed to arc flash risks as well as road and construction workers who need flame and hi-vis protection in the same garment. The removable ID card pocket and the outer certification labels also make it easier to check protective gear during daily site routines.
