This shell work trouser from Blaklader is designed for anyone working outdoors in wind, rain and cold who needs several types of protection at once, including road and construction workers, service technicians and other outdoor tradespeople. Worn as part of a layering system, it covers multiple hazards in a single garment instead of relying on several separate pieces.
The outer fabric is thin and highly flexible, completely free of polyester and metal, which noticeably improves comfort when worn over additional layers. The coating makes the trousers waterproof and windproof while still remaining breathable, keeping moisture out without trapping heat against the body. Welded seams prevent water from getting in even during prolonged rain. Knee pad pockets reinforced with CORDURA®/Kevlar®/Protal®, along with a reinforced hem, extend the service life exactly where everyday wear is heaviest. Detachable, adjustable braces allow the fit to be tailored to the wearer and the task at hand.
The trousers are inherently flame-resistant, meaning the protection is built into the fibre itself and does not wash out over time. Several standards apply at once: EN ISO 11612 and EN ISO 11611 cover protection against heat, flames and welding hazards, EN 61482-2 confirms arc flash protection, EN 1149-5 provides antistatic properties, EN 13034 offers limited protection against chemical splashes, and EN 343 protects against rain, wind and cold. The EN ISO 20471 Class 2 hi-vis rating also keeps the wearer clearly visible in poor light conditions. Together, these certifications make the trousers a multi-standard solution for workplaces with several hazards present at the same time.
They are particularly well suited to road and construction crews, service and maintenance staff, and anyone who regularly works outdoors in changing weather under strict safety requirements.
