These multi-norm work trousers from Blaklader are designed for tradespeople, electricians, and road and construction workers who need several types of protection at once. Rather than a coating applied afterwards, the flame resistance is built directly into the fibres of the fabric, so it stays part of the material rather than fading after repeated washing. The trousers also feature well-thought-out pocket solutions that remain practical despite meeting strict certification requirements, along with sturdy reinforcement at the knees.
The fabric blend of modacrylic, FR viscose, polyester, cotton and aramid is double-woven and, at 310 g/m², strikes a solid balance between durability and comfort on the body. Its ripstop structure resists tearing further once a small cut or snag occurs, and pockets subject to heavy wear are double-reinforced for a longer working life. The knee areas are reinforced with CORDURA®, Kevlar® and Protal®, which makes a real difference for anyone kneeling on site regularly. A water- and dirt-repellent surface keeps the trousers cleaner for longer and cuts down on maintenance during daily use.
The trousers cover several protection categories at once: EN 1149-5 provides antistatic properties that limit the risk of electrostatic discharge, EN ISO 20471 Class 2 delivers high-visibility protection for work near traffic, and EN ISO 11612, covering classes A1, A2, B1, C1 and F1, protects against heat and flame across a range of hazard scenarios. Certification to IEC 61482-2 Class 1 further confirms protection against the effects of an electric arc, backed by an ATPV rating of 11.9 cal/cm². Paired with the matching 4089 jacket, the combination can even reach Class 3 under EN ISO 20471.
This makes the trousers particularly suited to trades facing more than one hazard at a time: electricians needing protection against arc flash and static build-up, road and construction workers who need to stay visible and flame-protected simultaneously, and field service technicians working outdoors.
