This multinorm work trouser from Blaklader is built for anyone facing real hazards on site, from flames and electric arcs to poor visibility in traffic. Tradespeople, electricians, road and construction workers, and service technicians get a single garment that combines several types of protection, rather than forcing a trade-off between safety and comfort.
The fabric blend of modacrylic, cotton, FR polyamide and aramid with an antistatic component is inherently flame-resistant, meaning the protective properties are built into the fibre itself and do not wash out over time, which is reflected in its rating for up to 50 washes and its suitability for industrial laundering to EN ISO 15797. The 260 g/m² ripstop fabric delivers strong tear resistance for everyday wear, while the CORDURA®/Kevlar®/Protal® reinforcement at the knees adds extra durability exactly where work trousers wear out fastest. Pockets subject to heavy wear are double-reinforced, which noticeably extends the garment's working life. Metal-free construction also makes the trousers a practical choice for electrical work.
The trousers are certified to EN ISO 11612 for heat and flame protection, to EN 1149-5 for protection against electrostatic charge, and to IEC 61482-2 for arc flash protection, with an ATPV rating of 11 cal/cm². Under EN ISO 20471 they achieve Class 2 as a bottom garment and can reach Class 3 when paired with a matching jacket, significantly improving visibility in low-light conditions. Combined with suitable knee pads, the trousers also meet EN 14404-3 for knee protection.
With nail pockets, an open ruler pocket and flapless back pockets, the trousers are clearly designed for practical tool use on site, while the combined certifications also make them suitable for work carried out near live electrical equipment.
