These multi-standard work trousers from Blaklader are designed for anyone facing several hazards at once on the job: tradespeople, electricians, road and construction workers, and service technicians who need visibility as well as protection against heat, flames and arc flash. Available in hi-vis yellow/navy and spanning sizes C94 to D24, they offer a genuinely wide fit range in a regular cut, making it easy to find the right size for almost any build.
The fabric, a blend of modacrylic, cotton, FR polyamide, aramid and an antistatic fibre, is inherently flame-resistant, meaning the protection is built into the fibre itself rather than applied as a coating that wears off over time or washing. The ripstop weave adds strong tear resistance, while the oil-, dirt- and water-repellent outer surface keeps day-to-day maintenance manageable on demanding sites. CORDURA®/Kevlar®/Protal®-reinforced knee pad pockets add durability exactly where the trousers take the most punishment, and pockets prone to heavy wear are double-reinforced to extend their working life. The trousers are entirely metal-free and have been tested and approved for up to 50 wash cycles, including industrial laundering to EN ISO 15797.
The certifications cover a broad range of risks: EN ISO 11612 protects against heat and flame, EN ISO 11611 covers welding work, EN 13034 guards against limited chemical splashes, EN 1149-5 dissipates electrostatic charge, and IEC 61482-2 confirms arc flash protection with an ATPV rating of 11 cal/cm². As high-visibility workwear, the trousers meet EN ISO 20471 class 2, rising to class 3 when paired with the matching jacket, which noticeably improves visibility in low light and dusk conditions. The generous range of pocket solutions, from the ruler pocket to the removable ID pocket, has been designed to work within these certification requirements rather than compromise them.
