This lightly lined shell jacket from Blaklader is built for anyone who needs dependable protection against wind, rain and shifting temperatures without sacrificing freedom of movement. Its flame resistance is not a coating but woven directly into the fibre structure, so it stays effective for the life of the garment. An extended back, pre-shaped sleeves and adjustable details at the cuffs and waist keep the jacket in place no matter what the job demands.
The fabric blend of modacrylic, cotton, polyamide, polyurethane and aramid, combined with a ripstop weave, makes the material noticeably more resistant to tearing and abrasion while staying light and flexible to wear. Thanks to its wind- and waterproof construction rated at 12,000 mm water column, taped seams and a breathability rating of Ret 8.15, the inside stays dry while moisture can still escape outward. The fleece-lined collar and light inner lining add extra comfort for long shifts outdoors.
On the protection side, this jacket covers a wide range of hazards: EN 343 provides protection against rain, EN ISO 11611 covers welding and related processes, and EN ISO 11612 protects against heat and flames. EN 1149 adds antistatic properties, EN 61482-2 protects against the thermal effects of an electric arc, and EN 13034 guards against splashes of liquid chemicals, while EN ISO 20471 ensures high visibility. The jacket is also metal-free, PFAS-free and tested for harmful substances under OEKO-TEX Standard 100.
This combination makes the shell jacket a strong fit for electricians, road and construction workers, service technicians and oil and gas industry staff who face changing weather alongside multiple workplace hazards. Two gas loops on the chest allow gas detectors, oxygen meters or a microphone to be attached, and the jacket can be paired with the separately available hood when extra coverage is needed.
