This flame-retardant wool jacket from Blaklader is a metal-free garment made from wool terry fabric that works both as a standalone jacket over a base layer and as an insulating mid-layer under a shell jacket. It is built for craftsmen and electricians as well as road and construction workers who spend their days outdoors and need dependable heat protection in changing conditions. Designed to pair with Blåkläder's shell jacket 4088, it slots easily into an existing layering system.
The fabric blends wool with modacrylic and a small share of antistatic fibre, knitted as a dense 390 g/m² terry structure. In practice this means warm, comfortable wear that keeps you insulated even in cold weather, while the wool content helps manage moisture against the skin. An extended back panel, an elasticated hem, and extended cuffs with thumb openings keep the jacket in place during movement and prevent cold gaps at the wrists or lower back. A concealed plastic zip and high collar complete the closure without introducing any metal components.
Certified to EN ISO 11612, the jacket is tested for protection against heat and flame, making it suitable for tasks involving sparks or radiant heat.
