The Blaklader Inherent jacket is a metal-free industrial jacket built for electricians, welders and tradespeople who face more than one hazard on site at the same time. It combines protection against heat, flame, arc flash and chemical splashes with a soft, supple fit that stays comfortable through a full shift. The extended, adjustable back and the snap-button cuffs let the jacket move with the wearer and be adjusted to individual needs.
The fabric is a blend of modacrylic, cotton, FR polyamide and aramid with an antistatic element, woven as a tough ripstop material at 260 g/m². The result is a jacket that feels durable rather than stiff, with a surface that repels dirt and water instead of soaking it in. It is unlined, which keeps it versatile across seasons and layers, and according to the manufacturer it is rated for industrial laundering under EN ISO 15797 for up to 50 wash cycles, a real advantage for workwear that gets dirty on a daily basis.
On the protection side, the jacket covers several standards at once: EN ISO 11611 relates to protection during welding and similar processes, EN ISO 11612 covers protection against heat and flame, EN 61482-2 addresses the thermal effects of an electric arc, EN 13034 provides limited protection against chemical splashes, and EN 1149-5 relates to the antistatic properties of the fabric. The high collar adds extra coverage at the neck, and the heat-applied reflective details on the shoulders, back and forearms improve visibility without compromising the protective fabric with extra stitching.
