The Blaklader Inherent undershirt is a flame-resistant base layer built for anyone who needs reliable protection underneath their workwear without sacrificing comfort. Designed as a unisex garment, it comes in sizes from XS to 4XL, making it easy to find the right fit to wear beneath other protective layers.
The rib-knit fabric blends modacrylic, cotton and a small share of other fibres at a weight of 250 g/m². This mix gives the shirt a soft feel against the skin while keeping its flame-resistant and antistatic properties built into the fibres themselves, rather than applied as a coating that can wear off. The round neckline and ribbed cuffs sit close to the body, which helps the shirt stay comfortable even when worn under tight-fitting protective gear.
Certified to EN 1149-5, the shirt has antistatic properties that help prevent dangerous static build-up. EN ISO 11612 confirms protection against heat and flames, while EN 61482-2 covers protection against the hazards of an electric arc flash. Together, these standards make the shirt a dependable base layer for situations involving open flames, intense heat or the risk of an arc flash. The certification labels are placed on the outside of the garment, so they never sit directly against the skin.
This makes the undershirt well suited to electricians, welders, workers in the oil and gas industry, and anyone else who relies on layered protective clothing against heat and arc flash hazards.
