This pair of work trousers from Blaklader is designed for tradespeople who spend a lot of time crouching or kneeling on the job, including floor layers, electricians, installers, mechanics and concrete workers. The relaxed fit gives enough freedom of movement for constantly changing working positions without feeling bulky or restrictive.
The outer fabric is a sturdy twill weave made from 65% polyester and 35% cotton at 300 g/m², built to withstand daily wear on site while still feeling comfortable to work in. The knees are reinforced with CORDURA®, adding extra resistance to abrasion when working directly on hard flooring. The fabric is certified to Oeko-Tex Standard 100 and carries the OEKO-TEX® MADE IN GREEN label, confirming it has been tested for harmful substances and produced in a more environmentally responsible way.
The knee pad pockets are certified together with matching knee protection to EN 14404-3, specifically models 4027, 4032, 4057 and 4058. This standard covers knee protection for kneeling work and confirms that the trousers, combined with the correct knee protection, genuinely absorb the strain of kneeling rather than just offering soft padding.
Tool storage has been carefully thought through, with a rule pocket with knife holder and pen pocket, a leg pocket with bellows, an extra knife pocket on the thigh, and tool pockets with screwdriver compartments that tuck into the front pockets, so tools stay within easy reach instead of getting lost in a bag. A removable ID pocket, phone pocket and a front loop with D-ring complete the setup for everyday work on site or in the workshop.
