These craftsman trousers from Blaklader are designed for anyone who spends the day on the move: tradespeople, electricians, sheet metal workers, gardeners or warehouse staff. Instead of a stiff, rigid work trouser, you get a garment that flexes with your knees, crotch and calves as you move, so it never restricts you or bunches up when you crouch, stretch or kneel for long periods.
The fabric is a sturdy 300 g/m² twill made from 65% polyester and 35% cotton, combined with strategically placed stretch panels: 4-way stretch at the front, calf and yoke, and 2-way stretch in the crotch. In daily use this gives a feel closer to functional workwear than a traditional trouser fabric. High-wear areas such as the leg ends, seat pocket and the downward-opening knee pad pockets are further reinforced with CORDURA® stretch fabric, extending the life of exactly the spots that take the most punishment from kneeling and abrasion. Care is straightforward: machine washable at 40°C, with no bleaching, no dry cleaning, no ironing and no tumble drying.
The pocket layout is equally well thought through, with a reinforced ruler pocket with knife holder and pen pocket, a bellows leg pocket, a flexible phone pocket and two large pockets, one with a zip and a removable ID pocket. Wide belt loops, a hammer loop with button and a D-ring at the waist make it easy to carry tools throughout the working day. Reflective details on the leg add extra visibility in low light, useful on building sites or outdoor jobs.
