The PL309 lab coat made from Tyvek® 500 is designed for anyone whose daily work involves splashes, fine sprays or airborne particles and who needs a lightweight, well-fitting disposable coat. With a shirt collar, zip fastener, two pockets and elasticated cuffs, it is cut for practical use and can be put on and taken off quickly without looking like typical throwaway wear.
The outer material is 100% polyethylene (HDPE Tyvek®), kept deliberately light and low-linting. In everyday wear this translates into high breathability, since air and water vapour can pass through the fabric, so the coat does not feel like a plastic film even over longer periods. The surface is also free of silicones and, thanks to its antistatic finish to EN 1149-5, suitable for environments where electrostatic build-up needs to be controlled.
Classified as PPE category 3, type PB [6-B], the coat offers partial protection against limited spray and fine liquid chemicals as described in EN 13034. It is additionally tested to EN 14126 for protection against infective agents, making it suitable for tasks involving biological hazards. Its barrier performance against fine particles and fibres rounds off the protection without restricting freedom of movement.
This makes the PL309 a good fit for laboratories, cleaning and disinfection work, the pharmaceutical and food industries, and any setting that calls for lightweight, breathable disposable protection against liquids and biological risks. It is supplied as bulk goods with a minimum order quantity of 10 pieces, making it a practical choice for regular operational use.
