Product information "Flame Protection Work Trousers"
These flame-resistant trousers from Blaklader are built for anyone whose job involves heat, flames or electrical risk - welders, electricians, and road and construction workers will find a pair of work trousers designed specifically for these hazards. The regular fit comes with practical details that make everyday work easier, from rear pockets with flap and press stud, a leg pocket with bellows and a pen compartment, to external knee pad pockets for extra protection when working on your knees.
The fabric is made from 85% cotton, 14% polyester and 1% antistatic fibre in a twill weave, flame-retardant treated and substantial enough at 350 g/m² to handle daily wear on site or in the workshop. The water- and dirt-repellent surface helps prevent stains and soaking through, keeping the trousers looking fresh for longer. Rated for industrial laundering according to EN ISO 15797, the fabric is built to withstand the frequent professional washing common in workplaces with high laundry turnover.
The certifications cover a wide range of hazards: EN ISO 11612 protects against heat and flames, EN ISO 11611 is the standard for welding protective clothing, EN 13034 provides limited protection against liquid chemicals, and EN 1149-5 uses antistatic properties to prevent the build-up of dangerous electrostatic charge. The trousers are additionally tested to IEC 61482-2 for protection against the thermal effects of an electric arc, with an ATPV rating of 16.0 cal/cm² - a value indicating the energy level at which the protection against arc flash takes effect. Testing to EN 14404 also confirms the protective performance of the knee pad pockets when combined with matching knee pads.
This makes the trousers particularly suitable for professionals exposed to multiple hazards at once, such as welding work on construction sites, electrical installation, or industrial settings where flame resistance, antistatic properties and chemical protection are all required together.
