Product information "Jacket Inherent APC 2"
The Inherent APC 2 jacket from Blaklader is built for electricians and tradespeople who need dependable protection against arc flash hazards. It is entirely metal-free, using plastic snap fasteners and zippers instead, making it suitable for work where conductive components would otherwise pose a risk.
The outer fabric, a blend of modacrylic, cotton, FR polyamide and aramid, is inherently flame-resistant, meaning the protective properties are built into the fibres themselves rather than applied as a treatment that can wash out. Day to day, the light inner lining gives the jacket a soft, supple feel against the skin, while the ripstop weave at roughly 260 g/m² keeps it tough enough for demanding site work. A water- and dirt-repellent surface finish helps the jacket stay cleaner and ready for use even under rough conditions.
The jacket is certified to EN 61482-2 at the higher APC 2 protection class, providing effective protection against the thermal effects of an electric arc flash. It also meets EN ISO 11611 for protection during welding work, EN ISO 11612 against heat and flame, and EN 13034 for limited protection against liquid chemicals. The antistatic properties under EN 1149-5 further reduce the risk of electrostatic charge build-up in suitable working environments.
Practical features such as the concealed zip chest pocket with D-ring, the front pockets with flaps, and the loops for a microphone or gas detector make this jacket a well thought-out choice for electricians, industrial technicians and anyone working on sites or in facilities with an elevated arc flash risk. Heat-applied reflective details also improve visibility in low-light conditions.
