This winter jacket from Blåkläder is cut specifically for women and designed for those working in fire-hazard environments, such as electricians, road and construction workers, or field service staff. It combines protection against open flame and arc flash with warmth, wind and rain protection, making it suitable for outdoor work throughout the year, including cold winter conditions.
The fabric blend of modacrylic, cotton, polyamide, polyurethane and aramid is inherently flame-resistant, meaning the protection is built into the fibres themselves and does not wash out over time. The laminated, ripstop-reinforced fabric is windproof and waterproof while remaining breathable, and the welded seams keep moisture from getting in. The warm quilted lining and fleece-lined pockets make the jacket comfortable to wear in cold weather, while the fully metal-free construction, including a plastic zip, makes it safe to wear around electrical hazards.
The jacket carries several certifications that cover different risks at once. EN ISO 11612 confirms protection against heat and flame, EN ISO 11611 covers welding protection, EN 61482-2 provides arc flash protection for electrical work, and EN 13034 protects against liquid chemicals. EN 343 class 4,1 stands for high water resistance combined with breathability, EN 342 in combination with another Blåkläder model provides cold protection, and EN ISO 20471 class 2 ensures visibility in low light or poor weather thanks to the reflective details on the shoulders and body. EN 1149-5 additionally protects against static electricity build-up.
This makes the jacket well suited to tradeswomen, electricians, road and construction workers, and service staff who work outdoors in all weather and need reliable protection against fire, arc flash, cold and wet conditions.
