The Inherent Steel bib overalls, quality 1519 from Blaklader, are designed for work involving molten iron or other molten metal. Aimed at tradespeople and service technicians in the metal industry, they combine dependable protection with genuinely practical storage, from the chest pocket to the leg and rear pockets with flaps, plus a dedicated ruler and knife pocket.
The fabric blends modacrylic, cotton, polyamide and aramid fibres with a small proportion of antistatic fibre, woven as a twill at 320 g/m². The result is a rugged yet wearable garment that stays low-maintenance even on dirty jobs thanks to its oil, dirt and water-repellent surface. Elasticated braces, an adjustable waist and a metal zip fly keep the fit comfortable through a full shift, and the overalls are tested for industrial laundering.
Because the fire-resistant properties are inherent to the fibre itself, the protection doesn't wash out over time. Certified to EN ISO 11612, the fabric guards against heat and flames, while EN ISO 11611 covers hazards from welding and related processes. IEC 61482-2 certification adds protection against electric arc flash, EN 13034 provides limited protection against certain liquid chemicals, and the antistatic properties under EN 1149-5 help prevent the fabric from building up static charge. As a class 1 high-vis garment under EN ISO 20471, it also improves visibility on site.
This makes the overalls a strong fit for welders, metalworkers and anyone working in industrial settings where heat, sparks or molten metal are part of the job.
