Product information "Bib and Brace Inherent APC 2"
The Inherent APC 2 bib overalls from Blaklader are built for electricians and tradespeople who face arc flash risks and other thermal hazards on the job. The garment is entirely metal-free, with plastic snap fasteners and zippers instead of metal ones - a detail that matters when working near electrical installations. Practical features include a leg pocket with bellows and flap, an internal ID pocket, a phone pocket, and two rear pockets closed with snap-fastened flaps.
The outer fabric is a blend of modacrylic, cotton, FR polyamide and aramid with an antistatic component, woven as a tough ripstop material weighing 260 g/m². That combination makes the fabric hard-wearing while still feeling soft and flexible to move in. The front is additionally lined, giving noticeably stronger protection in those panels without making the whole garment feel bulky or stiff. The surface finish is water- and dirt-repellent, which keeps day-to-day upkeep simple.
In the lined areas, the overalls reach the higher arc protection class APC 2 under EN 61482-2, while the unlined areas provide APC 1 - both figures describe how much energy the fabric can absorb during an arc flash before it becomes a hazard to the skin. The garment is also certified to EN ISO 11611 for welding work, EN ISO 11612 against heat and flame, EN 13034 against limited chemical splashes, and EN 1149-5 for antistatic properties. Because the flame resistance is inherent to the fibre itself, it does not wash or wear out over time.
This makes the bib overalls a strong choice for electricians, industrial mechanics, and anyone working around switchgear, welding operations, or open flame who needs multi-certified protective workwear.
