This heat protection glove from Blaklader is built for heavy work in hot, dirty environments such as welding, mining, or any job where hands face both heat and rough mechanical stress at the same time. The extra-long split leather cuff shields the forearms from weld spatter and sparks, making it a solid choice for overhead work or tasks close to the torch.
The glove is made from split cowhide, a material that combines toughness with a decent grip and holds up well under demanding daily use. Inside, a thin cotton fleece lining provides insulation against heat without adding unnecessary bulk or stiffness, so the glove stays flexible during long shifts. A key detail for hot-work applications is the Aramid thread used on the seams, which resists high temperatures and keeps the stitching intact where cheaper gloves would start to fail.
On the protection side, the glove is certified to EN 388 and EN 407. EN 388 covers mechanical risks such as abrasion, cut, and puncture resistance, while EN 407 addresses protection against heat and flame – exactly the hazards found in welding and other high-temperature jobs. Combined with the baseline requirements of EN ISO 21420, the glove falls under PSA category 2, meaning it is designed for professional use where risk levels are elevated.
