The RUNNEX® SportStar is an S1PS safety shoe with ESD protection that combines a sporty look with the demands of daily work. It's designed for anyone working in dry environments who wants footwear that feels more like a trainer than a traditional safety shoe, without compromising on protection.
The microfibre upper, paired with textile inserts and TPU trims, makes for a construction that's both robust and lightweight. Inside, the RUNNEX® SPORTY functional lining keeps the foot climate comfortable, while the RUNNEX® SOFTtouch heel lining adds extra comfort around the heel. The rubber outsole with Phylon midsole and RUNNEX® activeBumper cushioning from Evonik noticeably absorbs impact when walking or standing, which makes a real difference during long shifts.
The SportStar is tested to EN ISO 20345:2022 in class S1PS FO, meaning it features a toe cap – here made from RUNNEX® composite material – along with a fuel-resistant outsole. It also comes with ESD protection to EN 61340-5-1:2016 and is listed under DGUV112-191, making it suitable for use at electrostatically sensitive workplaces where static build-up on the wearer needs to be avoided.
This makes the SportStar a solid choice for industry, warehousing and trades work, as well as for specialised ESD workplaces such as electronics manufacturing or any environment where electrostatic discharge poses a risk to people or components.
