The RUNNEX® SportStar is an S1PS safety shoe with ESD properties that combines a sporty, sneaker-like look with the demands of daily work. It's designed for anyone working in industry, trades, warehousing or logistics who doesn't want to compromise on comfort. From the outside it looks like a modern sports shoe, but underneath it delivers the protection of a genuine safety shoe.
The upper is made from a practically seamless knitted polyester fabric using knit technology, giving it a close, sock-like fit rather than the stiffer feel typical of classic safety footwear. TPU reinforcements at the toe and heel add extra stability exactly where the shoe takes the most strain. Inside, the RUNNEX® AIRSTREAM functional lining helps keep the foot climate comfortable, while the SOFTtouch heel lining provides secure fit and a soft feel around the heel. The coloured PU outsole with black PU midsole rounds off the sporty appearance.
In terms of protection, the shoe meets EN ISO 20345:2022+A1:2024 in class S1PS FO, meaning it features a steel toe cap, a closed seat region, fuel resistance and a penetration-resistant sole. ESD conductivity to EN 61340-4-3:2001 ensures controlled discharge of static electricity, which matters on workstations where sensitive electronic components are handled. It also complies with DGUV112-191 and is classified as PPE category II.
This makes the SportStar a strong choice for dry working environments in industry, trades, warehousing and logistics, as well as specifically for ESD workstations where static discharge needs to be avoided, all without giving up a modern, sporty shoe design.
