The Portwest Compositelite Mersey Trainer S1P is the metal-free alternative to the popular FT50 Steelite Mersey Trainer, built for anyone who wants a lightweight, sneaker-style safety shoe without compromising on protection. Thanks to its plastic toe cap instead of a steel one, it's a smart choice for anyone who regularly passes through metal detectors or otherwise needs fully metal-free footwear. It comes as a unisex style in Black/Blue and Black/Yellow, across thirteen sizes from 36 to 48.
The mesh and split leather upper keeps the shoe light and breathable, backed up by the 3D mesh lining inside. A leather-stitched toe guard and a well-padded comfort footbed help reduce foot fatigue over long shifts, while the dual-density outsole combines stability with cushioning underfoot.
The puncture-resistant, metal-free midsole protects against sharp objects on the ground without any metal in the construction, which also makes the trainer fully non-magnetic and free of nickel and iron. The slip-resistant outsole is designed to perform especially well on ceramic and steel floors, and it also resists fuel and oil. Antistatic properties and an energy-absorbing seat area complete the protective package, which is rated S1P, CE certified and UKCA marked.
