Anyone who spends a large part of the working day kneeling knows how much difference the right gear makes. These knee pads from Blaklader are built exactly for that situation: they slot into the knee pad pockets of compatible work trousers and add real comfort and protection wherever kneeling is part of the job. The shape is designed to flex with movement rather than staying rigid.
The front is made from sturdy polyethylene, forming a firm barrier against sharp or pointed objects on the ground, while the inner side is softly padded to noticeably reduce pressure on the knee. In practice, that means less fatigue during long stretches of kneeling work, and a pad that feels like part of the trousers rather than a bulky add-on. Before washing the trousers, the pads should simply be removed.
The knee pads are certified to EN 14404-3, Type 2, Level 1, meaning that together with suitable trousers marked F1G and M1G, they meet the requirements for knee protection during kneeling work. It's worth noting that the certified protection only applies when the pads are used with trouser pockets carrying the same certification.
They suit a wide range of trades where kneeling is routine: tilers and floor layers, electricians, roofers, plumbers, and general construction and road building work, as well as gardening and landscaping. Mechanics, painters and warehouse staff who spend time working close to the ground also benefit from the extra cushioning.
