This softshell winter jacket from Blaklader is built for anyone working outdoors in cold, wet conditions who also needs to stay visible: tradespeople, road and construction workers, installers, drivers and landscapers. The two-tone design with contrast shoulder panels and wide reflective stripes helps you get noticed even in poor light, and the detachable hood with mesh lining can be added or removed depending on the weather and the job at hand.
The 3-layer softshell fabric, made from polyester with an elastane content, gives the jacket its soft, stretchy feel and makes it noticeably easier to move in than stiffer, traditional workwear. A light inner lining, quilted lining in the sleeves and an air-mesh lining add comfort without adding bulk. Adjustable cuffs with velcro, a drawcord waist and a velcro-fastened wind flap over the zip let you fine-tune the fit to the weather and your own build. A Napoleon pocket, zipped front pockets and a zipped chest pocket with D-ring keep tools and small items within easy reach.
The fabric is waterproof to 11,000 mm, windproof and breathable with a Ret value of 20.0, so moisture can escape while rain and wind stay out. EN 342 confirms protection against cold, tested here together with model 1820, while EN ISO 20471 puts the jacket at class 3 overall, with class 2 in sizes XS-S and class 3 from size M, certification group C for the upper body - meaning strong visibility for work near traffic or on construction sites with vehicle movement.
