The teXXor® KRAKATAU welding glove is built for anyone working with metal who needs dependable hand protection during welding and heavy-duty tasks. The 5-finger design gives noticeably more dexterity and a firmer grip than a mitten-style glove, without compromising on toughness. An extra-long cuff adds protection for the wrist area against sparks and heat.
The glove is made from carefully selected cowhide split leather with a thickness of around 1.2 mm and is fully lined with cotton. That translates into a comfortable feel even during long shifts, combined with the durability needed to withstand mechanical stress on the job. Piped seams reinforce the areas under the most strain, helping to prevent premature tearing.
As Category II PPE, the KRAKATAU meets several relevant standards: EN 12477 is the dedicated standard for welding gloves, EN 388 confirms protection against mechanical risks such as abrasion, cuts and puncture, EN 407 covers resistance to heat and flame, and EN 420 sets out the general requirements for protective gloves. In practical terms, this is a glove designed to cope with the demands of welding work while still remaining easy to handle.
This makes it suitable for welding and deburring work as well as other heavy manual tasks in trades, construction, metalworking, mechanical engineering and locksmithing. It is also used in the automotive industry and its supply chain, at petrol stations and truck stops, and in glass manufacturing.
