Chem-Tape® is a specialised adhesive tape designed to seal the connection points between protective suits and gloves. For anyone working with hazardous chemicals, it closes the gaps at wrists or suit seams that would otherwise compromise an otherwise sealed protective barrier. This patented tape is purpose-built for this task and shouldn't be confused with standard adhesive tape.
In practice, the tape proves its worth through ease of use: it tears off cleanly by hand, with no tools required, which matters when suiting up or removing gear under time pressure. Despite this simple handling, it delivers an excellent barrier against chemicals, holding firm exactly where sealed transitions are critical.
The real benefit lies in its breakthrough time of more than 480 minutes, meaning chemicals do not penetrate the material within that tested period, keeping the wearer protected for extended durations. This makes Chem-Tape® suitable for tasks where prolonged chemical contact cannot be ruled out.
The tape is used wherever protective suits and gloves need to be sealed, including in the chemical industry, cleaning and remediation work, or for covering potential leaks. Its yellow colour also makes taped-off areas easy to spot at a glance.
