The Modaflame Knit FR Balaclava is a flame-resistant head covering for anyone working in environments where arc flash or heat exposure is a real risk. Part of the Modaflame knit collection, it is designed to be worn under a helmet or other PPE without compromising on comfort.
The high cotton content keeps the fabric soft against the skin, even during extended wear, while the super-soft, highly stretchy knit moves with you and helps reduce fatigue around the head and face. The generous fit pulls on easily and holds its shape wash after wash, with the inherent flame resistance staying intact throughout the garment's working life.
Protection comes from inherently flame-resistant fibres that shield against radiant, convective and contact heat. With an ARC2 rating, the balaclava is built to protect against the effects of a thermal arc flash, the kind of hazard found when working on or near electrical equipment. The antistatic finish further reduces the risk of static discharge, making the balaclava suitable for use in ATEX environments. The garment is CE certified and UKCA marked.
