The PS98 Browguard arc flash visor protects the face and forehead during work with arc flash risk, such as electrical or switching operations. It is rated to arc protection class 1 (APC1), covering applications where brief exposure to an electric arc fault must be anticipated. Its lightweight design, combined with a padded headband that adjusts via a ratchet wheel system, keeps it comfortable to wear even over longer shifts.
The visor is made from high-performance polycarbonate with a KN coating: the K marking indicates a certified scratch-resistant coating, while the N marking certifies anti-fog performance. In practice, this means the wearer keeps a clear view even as temperatures shift or exertion increases, and the scratch-resistant surface helps the lens hold its optical clarity for longer. The clear lens also filters UV radiation (UL1.2) without distorting colour recognition.
Certified as PSA CE Cat III, the face shield offers certified protection against molten metal splashes. For intermittent use, the visor can be flipped to an off position, making it easy to switch between protective and rest phases during the working day.
