The ES1 Essential Hi-Vis Softshell Jacket is built for anyone working outdoors who needs to stay visible while facing the elements. As a two-layer softshell, it combines high-visibility protection with a level of comfort you might not expect from standard hi-vis wear, and its size range up to 6XL means it fits a wide variety of body types.
The fabric is hard-wearing, breathable, windproof and water-repellent all at once, which in practice means the jacket keeps you dry during long shifts outside without trapping heat. Inside, a micro polar fleece lining with welded rather than stitched seams adds warmth and comfort while stopping moisture from creeping in at the seams. The outer fabric is treated with the PFAS-free Texpel™ Splash Eco finish, so water beads off the surface instead of soaking in. Two generously sized pockets give you room for tools and small essentials.
The jacket is certified to EN ISO 20471 after 50 wash cycles, so its visibility class holds up even with regular washing. Reflective tape adds further visibility in low-light conditions. The fabric also carries a UPF 40 rating, blocking 98% of UV rays, which makes a real difference when working in direct sun. In orange, the jacket additionally meets RIS 3279-TOM for the rail industry, and both colour options are CE certified and UKCA marked.
That combination makes the ES1 softshell a strong fit for road work, rail infrastructure, groundworks or logistics roles, wherever visibility, weather protection and all-day comfort all need to come together.
