This high-vis long sleeve shirt from Blaklader is built for anyone who spends most of the working day outdoors: tradespeople, groundskeepers, drivers, and road or construction workers who need to stay visible and comfortable no matter the conditions. Rather than a basic hi-vis top, this is a functional garment designed around heat and movement on the job.
The shirt is made from 100% polyester in a birdseye knit, a lightweight fabric structure that helps pull moisture away from the skin. Mesh panels are placed at key sweat zones to improve airflow, while strategically positioned underarm seams add comfort during movement. At 130 g/m², the fabric stays light despite all the added functionality.
Visibility performance is rated to EN ISO 20471: depending on size, the shirt meets Class 2 (XS-M) or Class 3 (L and above), which reflects the amount of high-visibility and reflective material on the garment and improves how well the wearer stands out in low light. The reflective strips themselves are either 50 mm or 60 mm wide depending on size. The fabric also provides UPF 40+ UV protection under EN 13758-2, a real benefit for anyone working under open sky, and the orange colourway additionally meets the UK rail standard RIS-3279-TOM Issue 2. The material is tested against harmful substances to Oeko-Tex Standard 100.
That combination makes the shirt a strong fit for jobs near traffic or in variable light, such as road works, civil engineering, landscaping, or driving roles that involve frequent stops and getting in and out of the vehicle.
