The Steglitz protective coverall is a disposable chemical protective suit built for tasks with elevated barrier requirements, such as working with hazardous substances, biological contamination or spray mists. Classified as PSA Category 3, it is aimed at professional users who need certified protection rather than basic disposable wear, and it is supplied in sizes M to 3XL in packs of 25.
The outer material is polypropylene with a microporous PE laminate, a construction that keeps out liquids and particles while still feeling breathable rather than like a sealed film. The seams are not just stitched but heat-taped as well, giving them the same barrier performance as the fabric itself so there is no weak point in the suit. Elasticated cuffs, ankles and waist plus the three-piece hood with elastic drawstring keep the fit snug even during movement, while the leg gussets add extra freedom of motion. The two-way zip with self-adhesive flap makes putting the suit on and off easier without breaking the barrier at the closure.
The Steglitz's set of standards covers a wide range of hazards: EN 14605 (Type 4) certifies spray-tightness, EN ISO 13982-1 (Type 5) particle-tightness, and EN 13034 (Type 6) limited splash-tightness, so it handles both fine dust and liquid contact. EN 1073-2 confirms protection against contamination by radioactive particles, and EN 14126 confirms resistance to blood and viruses, making the suit suitable for biological hazards too. Certification to EN 1149-5 adds antistatic properties, important wherever electrostatic discharge poses a risk.
This makes the Steglitz well suited to work in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, asbestos removal, cleaning and decontamination tasks, and medical or biological settings where reliable protection against particles, liquids and contamination is required.
