The James multi-norm work jacket is built for professionals facing more than one workplace hazard at once, such as electricians, welders or workers handling chemicals. Rather than needing separate garments for each risk, this jacket combines several protection classes in one piece, clearly marked by the multi-norm emblems on the left upper arm so the level of protection is visible at a glance.
The outer fabric is 98% cotton with a 2% carbon content, weighing 260 g/m², finished with a THPC coating that withstands 50 washes without requiring reproofing. In practice, that means a hard-wearing jacket that resists abrasion and tearing and keeps its protective performance even after repeated washing. Concealed buttons prevent scratching, heat-resistant press studs hold up under thermal stress, and movement pleats in the back combined with an elastic hem and adjustable cuff let the wearer move freely on the job.
The jacket meets several protection standards at once. EN ISO 11611 and EN ISO 11612 confirm protection against flames and thermal hazards, relevant for welding or work near open flame. EN 1149-5 provides antistatic properties that help prevent dangerous electrostatic build-up. Under EN 61482-2 Class 1, the jacket protects against the thermal effects of an electric arc flash, while EN 13034 Type PB [6] confirms limited protection against liquid chemicals. Reflective piping further improves the wearer's visibility.
This makes the jacket suitable for tasks such as welding, electrical installation work, work on live equipment, or jobs involving contact with chemicals, wherever multiple hazards can occur together. Two chest pockets and two hip pockets, each secured with flaps and press studs, provide space for tools and personal items. The jacket is available in sizes S to 3XL and is supplied in packs of 5.
