The Tychem 2000 C coverall from DuPont is a calf-length disposable garment designed for work where contact with infectious substances or chemicals is possible. A hook-and-loop closure at the neck and waist straps allows a secure, adjustable fit that opens and closes quickly, while elasticated cuffs at the sleeve ends keep the sleeves in place and close off open areas.
The fabric is a polyethylene spunbond nonwoven with a polymer coating, which feels light and flexible on the body without compromising barrier performance. The seams are taped rather than simply sewn, removing the needle holes that would otherwise create weak points for liquid penetration. The antistatic finish reduces static build-up in the material, making the coverall suitable for environments where electrostatic discharge poses a risk.
EN 14126 certifies protective clothing against infective agents, making it a key reference point for use in medical, laboratory or biologically contaminated settings. Combined with PSA Category III Type 3B, the coverall is built to protect against liquid-tight splashes, such as those encountered when handling contaminated fluids or chemicals.
