This Blåkläder winter jacket is built for anyone working outdoors in cold, wet conditions with a risk of flame or arc exposure, including electricians, mechanics, road and construction workers, and oil and gas personnel. The jacket is entirely metal-free and comes in both hi-vis colourways with reflective details on the shoulders for visibility from multiple angles. A women's version (4917) and a matching, helmet-compatible hood (2167) are available separately.
The fabric blend of modacrylic, cotton, polyamide, polyurethane and aramid is inherently flame-resistant, meaning the protection is built into the fibre itself and won't wash out over time. The laminated, windproof and waterproof fabric with taped seams keeps out rain and wind, while the breathable construction helps prevent that clammy, chilled feeling from trapped sweat. A warm quilted lining and cosy thermal fleece in the pockets add extra warmth without bulk, and the oil-, dirt- and water-repellent surface keeps the jacket looking presentable even after tough shifts.
On the protection side, this jacket covers a lot of ground: EN ISO 11612 confirms protection against heat and flame, EN ISO 11611 covers welding hazards, EN 13034 provides limited protection against chemical splashes, and EN 1149 confirms the antistatic properties. It's also certified to IEC 61482-2 for protection against electric arc flash, and EN ISO 20471 confirms its high-visibility performance for roadside or site work. EN 343 confirms reliable weather protection with a 12,000 mm water column rating, and paired with model 1817, the jacket also meets the EN 342 standard for cold protection.
With this combination of weather, flame and hi-vis protection, the jacket is well suited to outdoor work in changeable weather where there's also a risk from open flame, arc flash, or poor visibility.
