This flame-retardant work trouser from Blaklader is cut specifically for women and designed for female tradespeople, electricians and service technicians who face heat, flame or electrical hazards on the job. The women's fit combined with pre-shaped knees gives a freedom of movement that generic unisex cuts often lack, while the range of pockets, including internal knee pad pockets, a reinforced ruler pocket with a knife holder, and a leg pocket with a phone compartment, keeps tools and gear within easy reach throughout the working day.
The outer fabric is a sturdy cotton-polyester blend with an antistatic fibre, woven as a durable twill at 350 g/m². The result is a fabric that feels solid and grippy without becoming stiff, and thanks to its oil-, dirt- and water-repellent finish it stays cleaner and functional for longer even in demanding conditions. The trousers are industrially washable and rated for up to 20 wash cycles, making them a practical choice for workplaces that run their own laundry programmes.
The certifications cover a wide range of hazards: EN ISO 11612 protects against heat and flame, EN ISO 11611 is the standard for welding protective clothing, EN 13034 covers limited protection against liquid chemicals, and EN 1149-5 provides antistatic properties relevant to electrostatically sensitive environments. With an ATPV rating of 16.0 cal/cm², the trousers also offer solid protection against the effects of an arc flash, as can occur in electrical work. Reflective details on the legs further improve visibility in low-light conditions.
