These Blaklader work trousers are built for electricians, welders and tradespeople who face arc flash or flame hazards on the job. Thanks to the lined front sections, the trousers reach the higher APC 2 arc protection class in those areas, while the rest of the garment stays half-lined for a lighter, more flexible fit. Two bellowed leg pockets with flaps, one featuring an internal pocket for an ID card and phone, plus two button-fastened back pockets, provide practical storage for everyday tasks.
The outer fabric blends modacrylic, cotton, FR polyamide and aramid with an antistatic component, woven as a durable ripstop with a weight of 260 g/sm. The result is a soft, close-fitting feel that stays comfortable through long shifts without sacrificing toughness. The surface is water- and dirt-repellent, and since the garment is entirely metal-free, all closures rely on plastic snap buttons and a matching zipper.
The trousers are inherently flame-resistant and certified to several relevant standards: EN ISO 11611 covers protection for welding and related processes, EN ISO 11612 addresses heat and flame protection, EN 61482-2 covers arc flash protection, and EN 13034 provides limited protection against chemical splashes. EN 1149-5 confirms the antistatic finish, which matters for work in potentially explosive atmospheres. The lined front areas meet the higher APC 2 class, while the rest of the garment meets APC 1.
Reflective tape at selected points improves visibility, external knee pockets allow knee pads to be fitted, and the elasticated back waistband along with the raised rear panel give freedom of movement when kneeling or bending. This makes the trousers a solid choice for electricians, welders and industrial workers who need dependable, multi-layered protection built into a single garment.
