This shell jacket from Blåkläder is built for anyone facing multiple hazards on the job at once, including tradespeople, road and construction workers, and service technicians who need weather protection and visibility combined in one garment. What sets it apart is that it stays thin and flexible despite its many protective features, and it is completely free of polyester and metal, which also makes it a practical choice for work involving metal detectors or in explosion-risk environments.
The fabric is a blend of viscose, modacrylic and antistatic fibre, coated and kept light at 250 g/m² for comfortable all-day wear. With a waterproof rating of 16,000 mm and strong wind resistance, the jacket keeps out rain and draughts reliably, while its breathability (Ret 12.6) stops moisture building up during physical work. The fleece-lined collar and light inner lining add further comfort without bulk.
The certifications cover a wide range of hazards: EN ISO 11612 and EN ISO 11611 protect against heat, flames and welding work, EN 61482-2 addresses the effects of an electric arc, EN 13034 guards against certain chemical splashes, and EN 1149-5 helps dissipate electrostatic charge. The hi-vis rating to EN ISO 20471 (Class 2 in sizes XS-S, Class 3 from size M upwards) keeps the wearer visible in traffic and on site, while EN 343 protects against wind and wet conditions. The segmented, flame-retardant reflective stripes remain soft and flexible despite their protective function.
Practical touches such as the chest loops for gas or oxygen detectors, the detachable helmet-compatible hood, and the removable ID pocket designed for flame-retardant garments show that this jacket is built for demanding daily use, for example in road construction, industry, or emergency response, where several hazards can occur at the same time.
