The Blaklader Inherent overshirt merges the functionality of a traditional workwear jacket with the comfort of a shirt. Designed for craftsmen and electricians facing multiple hazards on the job, it is completely metal-free and fitted with plastic snap buttons and a two-way plastic zipper. Covered, bellows-style chest pockets leave room for a phone and notepad, while holders above each pocket for an oximeter or microphone and a pen loop cater to workers who rely on technical equipment throughout the day.
The fabric blend of modacrylic, cotton, FR polyamide and aramid with an antistatic fibre gives the garment a soft, supple feel that stays comfortable against the skin despite the tough ripstop weave. The surface is water- and dirt-repellent, which keeps day-to-day upkeep simple, and the fabric is approved for industrial laundering to EN ISO 15797 for up to 50 wash cycles. Adjustable snap cuffs and an extended back hem keep the shirt in place during movement and prevent gaps at the waist.
Protection is extensive: EN ISO 11612 covers heat and flame resistance, EN ISO 11611 applies to welding work, EN 61482-2 protects against the thermal hazards of an electric arc, EN 13034 addresses exposure to certain chemicals, and EN 1149-5 provides antistatic, charge-dissipative properties. Reflective details at the shoulders, back and lower sleeves, applied by heat transfer, add visibility in poor light.
