The Blaklader Inherent shirt is built for people working in hazardous environments, such as electricians, road and construction workers, and tradespeople exposed to heat and flame. Its concealed button placket and two flap chest pockets with press studs keep the design clean and functional, without any exposed fasteners that could catch on tools or materials.
The fabric is a blend of 54% modacrylic, 44% cotton and 2% antistatic fibre, woven in a twill weave and weighing 180 g/m². The result is a shirt that, despite its protective properties, feels light and comfortable to wear rather than stiff or heavy like traditional protective clothing. The collar sits neatly, the adjustable cuffs with concealed metal buttons let you tailor the fit to the task at hand, and the front closure uses hidden metal press studs so no metal parts are left exposed.
Its protective performance is backed by several certifications: EN ISO 11612 confirms protection against heat and flame, EN 1149-5 provides antistatic properties that matter when working around electrostatic charge, and IEC 61482-2 rates the shirt for arc flash exposure, with an EBT value of 6.4 cal/cm². The fabric is inherently flame-resistant, meaning the protection is built into the fibre itself and won't wash or wear out over time.
